Not worth the 3.99

Save your money. Most reviews here are just 5 star spams. This game has no replay value and no challenge at all. 3.99 wasted.

Challenging if:

You view this game as a management sim.

Bugged

When buying people if your out of funds it wont clear or back out

Fun but buggy

The game is a lot of fun like a lot of its predecessors, but there seems to be a lack of polish. When you decide to build buildings in the game the building prices are cut off. Building descriptions are also cut off. Please fix Kairosoft so I can rate this game 5 stars

Awesome

Its be nice to have a game like tropico but I love all your companies games I would really like a game like tropico though

Great game!!

Love all the Kairosoft games and this one adds to my collection! A couple requests please Kairosoft: Please fix the item/building/dialogue pop-ups and descriptions, the information gets cut off so you cant read the entire description or dialogue on certain things. Also please add a move/rearrange feature! If both requests were added I would definitely give 5 stars!! Still love this game, would highly recommend! Engaging gameplay, challenging in many areas, and be careful they are quite addicting! :)

Nice

As usual some features take a while to get used to, and text not always behaving as expected, but other than that great game.

Another amazing game

Lots of fun, complex, but not overwhelming. A game like this will be truly enjoyed by tinkerers everywhere. If you grew up on legos, for instance, this could quickly become your favorite game :)

Short and Unpolished

I love the titles from this company, but what they all seem to lack is, for lack of a better word, length. Theres a solid game here, from resource management to factory production to technology research to a simple combat system and even a tourist management system, the diversity of tasks to do is amazing. However, there just doesnt seem to be any icing on this cake. Several objects descriptions are longer than the space given for them, and there is lack of a scroll feature to view the remaining text. There is no way to assign particular tasks to individuals or which materials go where (which, for a more casual player is the way to go, I admit, but for me personally, I would like to micro-manage my residents tasks and my resources so my fastest workers could work where I need them most in an area and my production lines could be streamlined). To clarify what I mean by "which materials go where," Im talking about the ability to assign certain, for example, fields to certain factories, and assign certain residents the task of transporting the goods around. One of the biggest nails in the replay-ability coffin by far is the lack of different or random maps. The map you see in your first play through is the map you get in the second. I see no good reason for this other than to have a level playing field for high scores; Id rather be able to experience something new and exciting than be able to fairly brag about my score. There are several more micro-management factors that could be added, like disallowing tourists from purchasing things from your resource production/manufacturing facilities. I already mentioned the ability to assign particular jobs to particular residents. The level up system could be a bit less random, perhaps give the player the option to assign a certain number of stat points or make the randomness reflect what the resident has been doing, i.e. if they were part of X percent of away teams, their stats would weigh more toward health/ability/exploration than the stats would toward work and vice versa. Tourists could be made to favor certain things depending on the species theyre from, like one could favor the snowy biome and snowmen more than another and one might prefer the ivory statue to a playground and such. Which resort or landing pad they choose could be determined by these factors. Now, Id like to clarify, by all means, these changes should not impact the current playability of the game; casual gamers should still be able to not care about a tourists particular interests or what their particular residents do or how their characters level up, etcetera. But there should be the option to control these things, to fine tune how your world functions to make it work better. With all that said, the biggest thing that should be implemented is the different or random maps, that would make this game really worth the four dollars, everything else would drive up sales amazingly. Heck, with improvements like these and a higher resolution, this could be a full fledged pc release for at least 20$. Anyway, I hope the devs get around to reading this, and I hope this helped anyone unsure of purchasing the app. Bottom line, try the lite version a few times before buying this (and I really mean a few times, to get the feel of the repetitiveness of replays). Its a great game thats just suffering from a lack of micromanagement, diverse replays, and polish.

Another kairosoft

Kairosoft is definitely my fav game company on the app store I have all of theyre games and love supporting this company been with them way back when game dev came out. GO KAIROSOFT

Ok....

I like the game kind of..... But Ill still put 5 stars to help!!!! Thanks for awesome games, kairosoft!

Okay

Gameplay is 3 star, references are 5 star. Overall 4.

Weakest Kairosoft title, merely fun

Look, all of the Kairosoft titles are fun. This one, just a little less so - has less polish and interest than the others. Ipad users note all the iPhone versions work nicely in 2x on iPad 1-3, dont hesitate to try em.

Another gem

from kairosoft!

Really fun

But please make it so the world can be bigger Updated: please do it or add an option to have a bigger world

Ok...

I think this game was at the bottom of the list of Kairosoft but since its Kairosoft Ill give it a 4 star rating.

Great game, less replay value than others

EAS is another fun game from Kairosoft. Theres the "bottomless chasm" at the end of the game, but past 16F the rewards arent that great. Not much carries over to a new game and there are no additional maps to play or much else to unlock, so replay value is much lower than all the other Kairosoft games.

Yet another great game

Love kairosoft always looking for the next game love this one as well I want an American Football Story NFL Style please

Good but...

Its a great fun game but there is an unfortunate bug were whenever I click something it freezes and I dont know what to do know I deleted my game the first time it happened but I dont want to know because Im very far!! :( please fix it

Not one of their best

This is an OK game, but when comapred to other Kairosoft games, it is one of the most lacking in contact, game-play, thought, pacing and re-playability. Many of the features prominente in other Kairosoft games are missing when they would have been easily welcome to Epic Astro Story. The classic carry-over function from other games is present but is completely lacking in effectiveness, making it a waste of time. The game is highly unpolished, and it shows in the interface and text. A lot of times text will just spill out of windows or are simply cut off making it impossible to read what was there. In the end, there are other, better Kairosoft games.
